Digital ID and Facial Biometrics Webinar
Time & Location
Jan 11, 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM GMT-5
About the event
The Covid-19 pandemic highlighted the need for Digital ID and has influenced the adoption of facial biometric technology globally. Border agencies and travel industries alike are increasingly integrating facial recognition technology into their operations. According to CBP, Biometric Facial Comparison confirms traveler identity with more “accuracy, security, and efficiency” than ever before. While the use of facial biometric technology is intended to create a more seamless, safer, efficient, and secure travel experience that is touch-free, it has also raised issues including trust, privacy protection, and the possibility of bias. Join the Future Borders Coalition for our first webinar of the year on January 11, 2023 from 11:30AM-12:30PM ET/8:30:AM-9:30AM PT as we explore these themes with Casey Durst, Executive Director, Operations, Office of Field Operations, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and Denis Vinette, Vice-President of the Travellers Branch, Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA). The webinar is complimentary and open to all, but registration is required to receive the zoom link.
