Former Canadian Ministers Lisa Raitt and Anne McLellanto Join the FBC Advisory Board

Oct. 5, 2021 – The Future Borders Coalition (FBC) – the bi-national private sector group of over 70 organizations representing all modes of transportation, the cargo and logistics industry, and the business and tourism sectors – is very pleased to welcome the Honourable Lisa Raitt, P.C., and the Honourable A. Anne McLellan, P.C., O.C., A.O.E., as new members of the FBC Advisory Board.


Lisa Raitt is currently Vice-Chair, Global Investment Banking, at the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce. She previously served in Canada’s Parliament as Minister of Natural Resources (2008-2010), Minister of Labour (2010-2013), Minister of Transport (2013-2015), as well as Finance Critic and Deputy Leader of the Opposition (2015-2019). She has also served as Corporate Secretary, General Counsel and Chief Executive Officer of the Toronto Port Authority (1999-2008). A native of Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Lisa brings decades of proven leadership experience in the public and private sectors, and deep understanding of the challenges related to key sectors such as transportation and infrastructure.

Anne McLellan is Senior Advisor at Bennett Jones LLP. She previously served four terms in Canada’s Parliament, acting as Deputy Prime Minister of Canada (2003-2006), Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness (2005-2006), Solicitor General of Canada (2003-2005), Minister of Health (2002-2003), Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada (1997-2002), as well as Minister of Natural Resources (1993-1997). Prior to entering politics, she was professor of law, Associate Dean and Action Dean at the University of Alberta (1980-1992), and Chancellor of Dalhousie University (2015-2020). In July 2009, she was appointed an Officer of the Order of Canada. Anne brings valuable insights on pandemic management and recovery, law and governance, and planning.
