Daniel-Robert Gooch

Daniel-Robert Gooch has served as president and CEO of the Association of Canadian Port Authorities (ACPA) since February 2022. In this role reporting to ACPA’s Board of Directors, Daniel leads ACPA’s five-member team and oversees operations of the national association representing Canada’s port authorities. He is also a lead in engagement with the federal government, industry partners and the media on issues affecting the associa-tion and its members. Prior to joining ACPA, Daniel spent 16 years with the Canadian Airports Council, in-cluding 11 years as its president. In this role, he oversaw the organization’s Ottawa office, led government advocacy and industry promotion, and coordinated policy and regulatory efforts to effectively advance the airport industry within Canada. Daniel has nearly 30 years’ experience in government and industry affairs, communications and marketing, particularly in the aviation sector. Prior to joining the CAC, he was publisher and editor of Commercial Aviation Today, a daily electronic news publication for airline industry executives around the world. He also worked in marketing and media relations for U.S. and Canadian clients in Atlanta. Daniel is a graduate of Montreal’s Concordia University, with a degree in political science and history.
