Critical Minerals, Mining Partnerships, and Canada–US Cooperation

On March 10, 2026, the Canada–U.S. Future Borders Coalition convened the first in a new series of U.S. Ambassador Roundtables on Economic Cooperation, bringing together 34 senior mining executives in Victoria, BC for a high-level, closed-door dialogue. Hosted in collaboration with the U.S. Consulate General in Vancouver and the Mining Association of BC, this inaugural roundtable provided a rare and important opportunity for direct, candid engagement between industry leaders and a senior U.S. diplomatic decision-maker. At a time when global supply chains are being reshaped by geopolitics and national security priorities, this kind of access is both uncommon and increasingly critical. The discussion reinforced a central message: North American competitiveness will depend on how effectively Canada and the United States align—strategically, operationally, and at speed.
